This stunning original Art Deco engagement ring features a phenomenally brilliant 1.40ct Old European cut diamond complemented by a richly detailed diamond encrusted platinum setting. Fiery, and exceptionally clean with VS1 clarity, the substantial center diamond was cut by hand a lifetime in the past. Its wide facets create dazzlingly bold sparkle. A stunning work of craftsmanship, the domed platinum setting is studded with diamonds, elegantly accented with intricate leaf-like cutouts, and hand engraved with rich texture that continues the full length of the band!
Masterfully executed, the swirling design has an ethereal and airy look that brings to mind leaves dancing on the wind. The design is iconically Art Deco and elegantly glamorous! It is an excellent choice for an engagement or right hand ring that is not only beautifully designed and eye-catching, but also fully unique and steeped in history.
The substantial 1.40ct center diamond is exceptionally clean, graded VS1 for clarity. Even under 10x magnification, it is nearly impossible to find any inclusions in this diamond. The diamond is graded K-L for color and faces up beautifully. Part of the diamond’s antique charm, it does show a subtle hint of warmth when looking at the side, as is typical for diamonds from its time period. However, on the face up, the bright white reflections in the diamond’s sparkle largely overwhelm the color. Looking straight down onto the stone it is hard to notice the warmth, especially when out in daylight. Generally it is in the white range of color and as it is mounted in the ring, this further contributes to mask the color. Overall, it is a magnificent diamond, full of life and fire.
The accent diamonds are bright white and very clean, graded G-H for color and VS for clarity. It is difficult to find any inclusions in the accent diamonds even under 10x magnification. The diamonds are all completely natural earth mined and have not received any treatments or enhancements. The setting is solid platinum and handmade in breathtaking intricate detail! The piece was originally made by hand in the 1920’s, and it is a magnificent display of Art Deco craftsmanship. This is truly a rare and special find! The ring measures 14.1mm across (north south) and 6.1mm from finger to top. The ring is currently a size 6. It can be resized; however, because the shank is fully engraved, special resizing rates may apply. Please inquire if you would like this ring to be resized.
